Reincarnation. Some define it as a new version of something from the past. A life was brought to an end only to give it a new life, a life that is meant to come to an end someday too. No matter where one was born, brought up, lived a life, raised a generation while seeing another one fade away, every single life is running towards the same end. They may not want to but they do get to it eventually whether they like it or not, whether they feel accomplished or not, whether they are ready or not.

We transform through 5 stages in life. Infancy, Childhood, Adolescence, Adulthood, Old Age. It is said that when we turn old we turn into a child again. For some of us it is true while for some lucky people like me, the child never grew up. Now don’t get me wrong. Those 5 stages are as inevitable as death. But if you play life carefully as if it were a game, you will find the right cheat codes and be the master instead of the puppet.

When we are 10, we want to be 16 and when we are 16, we want to be 23 and then we start realizing we were better off being kids! I realized I wanted to remain a kid for the rest of my life just in time. Of course I carry on my adult life and will someday turn old but the child in me never walked out. And when I say the child in me it is not the childish me. It is the child for whom the whole wide universe is her playground and she wants to run from one place to another chasing something or the other. A child does not see life in terms of success, failure, economy, equilibrium or moving on to achieving the next milestone. Just like a heart wants what it wants, a child wants what she wants and if at times things don’t quite seem right a donut would do!

It is important to keep that child alive. We say we want to avoid death if possible. What we really wish actually, is to avoid life. With all the responsibilities, people issues, job issues, rent issues, technology issues, customer issues and boss issues, it is not death that gets to us, it is in fact life that gets to us. We start planning vacations and getaways and those little much needed breaks to take us away from life. Be it a self discovery trip or a family vacation or a long awaited reunion with friends, it is called a getaway because of a reason. You want to get away from life and indulge in happiness and maybe you should! But why not make life a vacation in itself?

As kids we never think that there is something we can’t do. We think out of the box because we never do what we are told to do, it just comes naturally to us! So keep the child alive, save him/her, save yourself. Life and death keep happening, we don’t have to worry about that. Rather think about how you want your playground to be, what do you want to play, practice getting better at it, and once you know you are ready…
