Memories. That is all that we have with us. That is all we will ever have. Take a clock for instance. Even if the battery of a clock is over, time doesn’t stop. Insert a new battery and time has to be adjusted to the present. Once you have fixed it, what next? Where do you keep the clock? Some are held high, some kept at a comfortable distance from where we can see it but never too close, some right next to us walking with us keeping track of time. Some clocks we look at once in a while and some are hooked on to us.
Consider yourself a clock. Just like a clock that runs out of battery we sometimes run out of life too. We take a step back or stop in time because of some incident or a string of incidents. We become weak and exhausted and drained out. It becomes hard to do the daily tasks and with time it only gets harder. Once you take your time out from life and want to come back all rejuvenated, you realize how things have completely changed. Nothing is the same. People change. Relationships change. Priorities change. Needs, wants and desires change. Something that seemed unnecessary becomes a necessity and something you thought you couldn’t live without, you didn’t even notice when you lost it. And all you can do then is somehow accept it and adjust yourself to the present. What do you have with yourself? Do you have anything left of you except memories?
Memories. Happy and sad. Good and bad. Some bring that sweet smile to your face while some drop a tear seeing the empty space. What do we do when you don’t know what to do, where to start, where to look and where to stop. How do you figure out if it’s the end or a new beginning? Can you find the solution to this puzzle or do you find yourself lost trying to grab a helping hand.
While you are busy figuring out what to do, you didn’t notice time didn’t stop still. You don’t know if you are better off than earlier or are you lost even deeper. It’s all a puzzle. Time keeps running and doesn’t wait for you to come up to speed with it. And then when you are tired and need a break, you look back, and all you see is…
Memories!
